Five Seasonal Lawn Treatments

Winter Treatment

Where homeowners tend to forget about their lawns during winter, moss could be invading your lawn.  We apply a micro nutrient liquid feed that also has a Moss Control element.  This will produce a deep green colour without a flush of growth and also helps in the battle against moss.  Winter is also a time to look at drainage issues and to think about an Aeration.  It is important to ensure the lawn is kept tidy and free of leaves and fallen debris.  Leaves left on the lawn will kill the grass underneath by starving it of sunlight.

Spring Treatment

Spring is a time when your lawn is beginning to wake up from its dormancy.  We will apply a professional fertiliser containing the key macro nutrients N.P.K. (Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium).  This is suited to lower temperatures of early spring.  We will also apply a selective herbicide to control the broad leaf weeds that are beginning to take hold.

Mowing will increase as the temperature rises.  Good mowing practices play a vital role in achieving a lush green lawn.  A sharp blade, the right height and frequency are all needed.  If your lawn is long, then it may need to be cut twice, once on a very high cut first.  We offer a Lawn Mowing Service.

Early Summer Treatment

As the light and temperature increases your lawn will require a boost.  We apply a fully coated, slow release fertiliser.  Our summer fertiliser has anti scorch technology so it is well suited to warm, dry conditions.  It contains all the macro nutrients required to keep your lawn looking lush and vibrant.  Any weeds are also addressed on this treatment, spot spraying to achieve accuracy and control.  Remember!  As with all living plants your lawn needs water to stay green and healthy.  If watering is required, then a deep watering, but less often is better than a shallow watering daily.  We offer a Water Conserving Treatment should you require it.

Late Summer Treatment

A third feed to boost your lawn giving it vigour and strength to enhance your garden during the later summer months.    Again a fully coated, slow release anti scorch fertiliser is applied at the correct quantity for your lawn.  A selective herbicide is spot sprayed to any new weeds that may have blown in since your last treatment.  During the heat of summer it is advised to raise the cut height of your mower.  This helps to keep more moisture in the grass leaf, therefore maintaining the lush, green colour.  Your lawn may also be thicker and more difficult to mow, so the higher cut will help to produce a cleaner cut.  Start thinking about Scarification for early autumn.

Autumn Treatment

As your lawn starts to slow down in lush green growth, autumn is the time to concentrate on root development and the strength of the grass plant, ready for the cooler more demanding months.  We apply fertiliser more suited to the development of the roots, containing more phosphorus and potassium.  A liquid is also applied containing a micronutrient feed and a moss control element.  Autumn is a good time for Aeration and Scarification.  Keeping your lawn clear of leaves during these months is key - we offer a Leaf Clearing Service should you require it.  Mowing when possible also keeps the grass neat and leaf free.
